Chiropractic and Pregnancy Safety

IS CHIROPRACTIC CARE DURING PREGNANCY SAFE?
YES!
There are no known contradictions to chiropractic care throughout pregnancy. Chiropractors are trained to work with women who are pregnant. Some chiropractors like Dr. Joelle Johnson take a specific interest in prenatal and postnatal care and seek additional training.

Chiropractors like Dr. Johnson at Family First Chiropractic and Wellness has been trained to work with pregnant women may use tables that adjust for a pregnant woman’s body, and they will use techniques that avoid unneeded pressure on the abdomen. The tables we use allow for expansion of a growing baby with comfort. We often will use special pillows and techniques to make mom and baby as comfortable as possible.
A chiropractor that is trained in the needs of women who are pregnant will adjust you and also provide you with exercises and stretches that are safe to use during pregnancy. This will help baby to be in an optimal position for birth, thus alleviating pelvis and back pain and reducing labour times up to 50 %.
